SizeEnsure you are feeding appropriately sized bones for your dog. Bones shouldn't be so small that they're swallowed whole and become a choking risk, but they shouldn't be so large and dense that they become a risk for dental fractures.
SuperviseYou should never leave your dog unattended with a bone, or any treat for that matter. In the event of an emergency, you should be there to provide first aid. DO NOT give your dog a bone if you cannot supervise them throughout.
SeparateIn multi dog households, it is advisable to separate them in order to prevent resource guarding and aggression over bones. Separate them on different sides of the room, in different rooms or use crates to safely feed bones.
